Full-On Panic Mode: All Eyes on DNC Convention as “Hurt” Biden Rejects Calls to Step Aside

With only a few weeks until the DNC Convention in Chicago, the Democratic is in full-on panic mode. Recent calls for a visibly confused and beleaguered President Biden to step aside in favor of a new candidate have sparked questions about whether the party has any viable challenger that can defeat former President Donald Trump in November. The DNC’s controversial plan for a virtual roll call to nominate Biden in August on has stirred up a hornet’s nest, raising questions about its legality.

Just three weeks ago, Biden’s lackluster debate performance set the alarm bells ringing, turning concern into a tidal wave of panic. Voices from both the progressive and moderate factions increasingly urge Biden to step down, citing worries about his age and cognitive decline. The recent, shocking assassination attempt on former President Trump has only added fuel to the fire, amplifying the scandal over the Secret Service’s blunders at last week’s Pennsylvania rally. Was it incompetence or deliberate – many are asking.

To date, 35 Capitol Hill Democrats have called on Biden to step aside. Even Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer advised Biden exit the race. This morning, Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) added his voice to the growing chorus of panicked voices.

The Democrats are in complete disarray regarding Biden’s nomination. They’re panicking over whether to fast-track his official nod with a virtual roll call next week or wait for a showdown at the August convention. Biden’s supporters are eager to speed things up, saying the plan’s been set for weeks, even before the June debate, and is necessary because of past Republican legal challenges in Ohio. But since Ohio lawmakers closed that loophole in May, critics now say a virtual roll call is just a tactic to push Biden’s nomination through. Who’s right? That depends on how confident you are in Biden’s spot on the Ohio ballot—and whether you think the party needs more time to pick its Trump challenger.

Amid this political whirlwind, grassroots Democratic activists are gaining steam. A new group, ‘Pass The Torch,’ is pushing for Biden to hand over the reins to a fresher, stronger ticket. Although who that “fresher, stronger” ticket might be is a massive question mark. Polling does not indicate that there is a “fresher, stronger” ticket that would easily defeat former President Trump. But what’s clear is that , as the DNC convention approaches, Chicago is gearing up to be at the center of this political storm and the decisions that will shape the Democratic Party’s future in 2024 and beyond.

The latest rumors suggest that Hillary Clinton, the former Democratic presidential candidate and a 2016 election denier, may replace Biden as the Democrat’s nominee. However, some political insiders argue that Vice President Kamala Harris should be the one to succeed Biden. Failing to do so, they claim, could expose the party to accusations of racism and sexism. Despite all of this, Biden campaign continues to reject calls that he exit the race.

It’s rumored that Biden’s determination is driven by lingering resentment from being edged out of the 2016 race by former President Obama and the Biden family’s sense of betrayal by party insiders. These tensions are amplified by the recent assassination attempt on Trump and calls for the head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, to resign. Coupled with widespread security lapses, the scrutiny on Biden and his administration is turning into a blinding spotlight that shows no sign of dimming.

In the end, this debate is futile if Biden remains steadfast in his decision to stay in the race and efforts to oust him prove unsuccessful. As we gear up for the Chicago Convention, all eyes are on the Democrats. Will Biden step aside? Can the Party rally behind a new candidate? Do the Democrats have any viable options? Stay tuned, folks—this is one political nail-biter you won’t want to miss.
